Hunt Military Communities Hosts More Than 25 wear blue: run to remember Memorial Day Events Across the U.S.

Hunt Military Communities Hosts More Than 25 wear blue: run to remember Memorial Day Events Across the U.S.

Hunt Heroes Foundation (HHF), the non-profit organization founded by Hunt Military Communities (HMC), recently hosted more than 25 Memorial Day events at military communities around the nation, joining over 20,000 other runners and walkers around the world to remember America's fallen heroes and show support for the families they left behind.

The wear blue Memorial Day event uses the power of community and the accessibility of running and walking for community members to become a living memorial through their steps to honor generations of America's fallen heroes. This year's run encouraged participants to Make Memorial Day Your Mission. It's a stark reminder to all Americans that Memorial Day is a time to honor the sacrifices of the American military member families.

"We couldn't be more humbled and honored to play a role in supporting the wear blue mission, and help grow its Memorial Day event," stated John Ehle, President of HHF and HMC. "We have access to hundreds of thousands of Service Members and their families, many who have lost a friend or family member while serving. This partnership between the HHF and wear blue allows us the opportunity to spread the wear blue message while allowing our residents the opportunity to remember and pay tribute to their fallen comrades."

Each event began with a Circle of Remembrance where the name of a military member killed in war is called out. Events were organized throughout the United States and abroad. Hunt Military Communities had more than 3,000 participants walk or run a total of just under 10,000 miles.

For two years, HHF has a partnership with wear blue: run to remember. Through generous donations, HHF has given more than $30,000 to wear blue, in addition to orchestrating the Memorial Day events.

HHF encourages growth and development by funding projects that address community challenges in the areas of health, education, housing and overall community support. Its focus is to improve the quality of life for military families who sacrifice so much day-in and day-out.
