Documents Required for the Active Duty Military Application
These are required documents for this property. Please review the list as you are preparing to submit your application.
STEP 1: Complete the MHO Application

When you are ready to apply with De Luz Family Housing, the Hunt team will send you the necessary forms to complete and submit to the Military Housing Office (MHO) for your government housing application. You can contact the MHO directly by phone at (760) 725-1656 or visit the Joint Housing Office at 98 San Jacinto Rd, Oceanside, CA 92058.
Documents needed for the MHO application:
- PCS orders
- NAVMC 10922 (Marine applicants only)
The MHO will issue a referral based on the eligibility date listed on orders.
You will need to complete the following forms, which will be sent to you by a Hunt Team Member:
- DD1746: Application for Assignment to Housing
- PPV-Private Public Venture Brief Form
- Privacy Act Release Form
- Registered Sex Offender Policy
- Fire and Window Safety
- Dual-Military Spouse Forms *Applies only to dual military
- Window Cord Safety
- Pet Disclosure Policy Form
- Acknowledgement of Receipt for Public Language Brief and Tenant Bill of Rights
Please include your personal email address on the application to avoid communication issues with your.mil account.
STEP 2: Begin the HMC Application
After your MHO application is approved, you will receive a welcome email from a Hunt Staff member to the email address provided on your application. Click the link to reset your password and begin your Hunt Military Communities application.
THE APPLICATION PORTAL MAY NOT BE SUPPORTED ON GOVERNMENT COMPUTERS OR MOBILE DEVICES. A NON-GOVERNMENT DESKTOP COMPUTER IS RECOMMENDED FOR A SMOOTHER EXPERIENCE.
STEP 3: Gather the Documents Needed & Submit Your HMC Application
- All applicants must present a current Leave Earning Statement (LES) to confirm current rank.
- If all dependents (spouse/kids) are not listed on orders, you must provide a DEERS 10922.
- *If all dependents are listed on your orders, no additional documents are needed.
- If you have pets, you must provide all of the following:
- Rabies certificate
- Photo of each pet
- Microchip paperwork for each pet
- If you are filing the information on behalf of your active-duty spouse, you need a power of attorney (POA).
- If you are dual-military, you must provide both orders. One family member must be on another's orders; if not, you will need to provide a DEERS 10922.
STEP 4: Waitlist Placement and Move-In Requirements
Once Hunt approves your application, you will be placed on a waitlist for homes that you qualify for until you are offered a home. You will receive confirmation once you are placed on the waitlist.
Documents Required for the All Other Applicants
These are required documents for this property. Please review the list as you are preparing to submit your application.
STEP 1: Gather the Documents Needed for Your Application
- All applicants must show proof of income through a pay stub showing a full month's income equal to at least 2.7x the market rent (not reduced or promotional rent). If applicable, the monthly rent qualifier for a guarantor is 5x the market rent. Please note that an income qualifier is based on gross monthly income (excluding commissions, tips, or child support).
- If military affiliated, proof of Military/DoD affiliation is required.
- If you have pets, you must provide all of the following:
- Rabies certificate
- Photo of each pet
- Microchip paperwork for each pet
- A state-issued ID for every person in the household who is 18 or older.
STEP 2: Complete Your Government Housing Application
When you are ready to apply with De Luz Family Housing, the Hunt Leasing team will send you the necessary forms to complete and submit to the Military Housing Office (MHO) for your government housing application. You must obtain a referral from the MHO before you can complete a Hunt Military Communities Application.
STEP 3: Complete Your HMC Application
After your documents are approved by the MHO, you will receive an email with a link to begin your HMC application. Upon clicking this link, you must complete the following items to enter the application portal:
- Download, review, and sign the screening authorization for credit and criminal screening. It must be signed by all parties over the age of 18 and submitted in your application.
- Download and review the application rental criteria. Enter your name and email address in the designated fields to access the application portal. You will need to upload this document in your application.
